EVP refers to ‘Electronic Voice Phenomenon’. It is the name given to mysterious sounds or voices captured by electronic recorders or digital devices. These voices cannot be heard while recording, but are often audible during playback.
A number of people believe that such voices belong to spirits trying to communicate with (living) human beings. However, scientists claim that EVP occurs due to natural causes like the presence of static, background noises and other stray sounds.
