Shimla : A delegation of Tonglen Trust Dharamshala, led by its Director Therchin Gyaltsen, called on Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu here today and apprised him of the Trust’s request for a lease of land for the school it operates for underprivileged and marginalized students.
The Chief Minister assured the delegation of all possible support from the State Government. He stated that financial assistance of Rs 1,000 per month would be provided to students below 14 years of age, while those above 14 years would receive Rs 2,500 per month.
Appreciating the Trust’s dedicated efforts towards the welfare of disadvantaged children, the Chief Minister lauded its contribution to education and humanitarian service, saying that such initiatives play a vital role in empowering the weaker sections of society.
Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi, MLA Harish Janartha, Trustee Dorjee, and Councillor Palkit Negi were also present on the occasion.
